Interested in serving?

  • We are looking for volunteers to help with recording, editing, and publishing our Bible studies and Sunday messages. There are several different ways you can help. Some volunteers will help operate the recording equipment and push the buttons, while others can help with editing and publishing the recordings. No experience is necessary! Training will be provided. You don’t have to know anything about audio or video—we’ll teach you what you need to know. If you would be interested in serving in this ministry, please let us know. This is a great opportunity to use your time and talents to help share God’s Word with others, both inside and outside our church.
  • We’d Love Your Feedback! We would love to hear your feedback about adding a telephone communication system to our church. Those who have experienced this type of service in other churches have shared the benefits of being able to receive phone calls with church updates, upcoming events, devotional messages, prayer reminders, and other important information. We are also looking for someone who would be willing to oversee the system, including adding new phone numbers and keeping our contact list updated. Please let us know your thoughts. We would love to hear whether you feel this would be a helpful way for us to stay connected and communicate with our church family.
  • The Giles Mission Food Pantry is always in need of donations. If you have canned foods, you are welcome to bring them to church service and deposit them in a box in foyer. They will be delivered to the mission. ex. Cereal, hamburger or tuna helper, canned fruit, canned soup, crackers, etc.
  • Please share your God-given talents and volunteer to serve in our Church Ministries. Please let Mac Miller know of any ideas you may have.
    • Building and properties
    • Sunday school/church teachers We welcome volunteers to help our current teachers and need additional teachers for both Sunday school and church (once a month or once a qt).

Church building and property updates:

  1. Property Easement: Mike Williams, owner of the property behind the church, has graciously donated 0.018 acres to Shady Grove Church to provide the necessary building easement for our future education building. The deed is currently being recorded at the courthouse. We are very grateful for Mike’s generosity.
  2. Survey & Engineering: Both the property survey and the engineering work for the church property and proposed new education building have been generously donated by Rodney Peirson, an engineer from Daleville. We sincerely appreciate Rodney’s willingness to bless our church in this way.
  3. Building Plans: Daniel Banker is completing and submitting the building plans for the required permits. Once the plans are approved, we will obtain construction bids and present them to both the Church Board and the congregation for review and consideration before moving forward.
  4. Security Lighting: Additional motion-activated security lights will be installed around the exterior of the church to provide better lighting and improve safety during evening activities.
  5. Thank you to everyone who continues to support and pray for these improvements. It is exciting to see how God is providing through the generosity and service of so many people.
  6. Due to the challenges of getting sub contractors for bids, we have been advised to hire a general contractor to oversee the bids for the new building. We will now be reaching out to GC to move forward.
